Pat has practiced commercial law since he was admitted to the Bar in 1984. He joined Hershner Hunter in 1993. His practice has focused on representation of all types of creditors in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts, representation of bankruptcy trustees, and enforcement of secured interests in both real and personal property. He has considerable experience in responding to emergencies, including seeking provisional process orders for such things as immediate repossession of collateral and attachment of assets. Pat’s bankruptcy experience includes representing creditors in large, national bankruptcy cases in courts across the country.

Pat is also a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, representing a wide variety of clients in business and commercial litigation matters.

He is an active member of the Oregon State Bar Debtor-Creditor Section, having served several years as a member and officer of the section’s Executive Committee. He has written articles for the section newsletter and has drafted bills and has frequently testified before the legislature as a member of the section’s Legislation Committee. He has authored continuing legal education publications for the Oregon State Bar, including a chapter in Contracts and new legislation summaries for the Bar and the Professional Liability Fund. He is co-editor of the 2016 revision to the Oregon State Bar CLE publication “Creditors’ Rights and Remedies.” He is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education events.

Pat is married and has three sons. Pat enjoys bridge and represents the firm as a “high-handicapper” in local charity golf events.
