Melissa (“Missy”) joined Hershner Hunter in September 2009. Her practice focuses on business litigation and business transactions. Missy grew up in Eugene and is excited about the opportunity to practice law in her hometown.

Prior to law school, Missy attended George Mason University, near Washington D.C. During college, she interned for Senator Ron Wyden and, after graduation, transitioned into a permanent position with the Senator working for him for the next year and a half. Missy left the Senator’s office to work for Nike in its Washington D.C. Government Relations Office. While at Nike, Missy developed briefing packets for athletes and coaches and helped organize and lobby for various Nike-sponsored initiatives like the Reuse-A-Shoe and Save Title IX Campaigns.

Missy left Nike to return home and attend law school at the University of Oregon, where she graduated sixth in her class. During law school, Missy participated in the Journal of Environmental Law and Litigation, Street Law,
a program designed to get high school students excited about the law and trial practice while raising awareness about domestic violence issues, and Moot Court.

Missy now lives in South Eugene. In her free time, she enjoys running with
her dog, playing volleyball, hiking, and watching Duck football and Blazer basketball.
