Ali, a former Hershner Hunter summer associate, joined the firm in September 2013. Her practice focuses on litigation and labor arbitration.

Ali grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where her father is a seasoned attorney practicing primarily complex commercial litigation. Soccer was Ali’s first love, and, after high school, she traveled to Shreveport, Louisiana, to play collegiately for Centenary College. Centenary provided Ali the rare opportunity to attend a small liberal arts college and still play high-level, Division I soccer. After graduating summa cum laude with a degree in Political Science, Ali headed west for law school at the University of Oregon.

Ali graduated third in her class at the University of Oregon, where she was active as an associate editor for the Oregon Law Review and a tutor for the well-respected Legal Research and Writing program.  In addition to her time at Hershner Hunter, Ali spent a year clerking for the Trial Division of the Oregon Department of Justice. She also served the campus-wide community as a student member on the University Hearings Board.

Following law school, Ali accepted a two-year judicial clerkship with the Honorable Timothy J. Sercombe of the Oregon Court of Appeals. As Judge Sercombe’s judicial clerk, Ali researched and drafted appellate opinions in a wide variety of civil, administrative, and criminal cases. In doing so, she gained valuable exposure to complex legal arguments and refined her skills as a researcher, writer, and editor.

Ali is active in the Eugene legal community.  Currently, she serves as Co-chair of the Lane County Bar Association’s Program Committee and as a committee member of Lane County Women Lawyers.  She also volunteers as a guest teacher with Junior Achievement and as a judge for the Bethel Teen Court.

Ali lives in North Eugene with her husband, Mark, and their dog, Kramer. Ali is an avid sports fan, and she spends much of her free time playing sports and supporting the Ducks.
