Estate and Business Planning Practice Group
The mission of the Estate and Business Planning Practice Group is to provide clients with appropriate estate and business planning services, promptly and at reasonable cost. Our plans range from the basic to the innovative and sophisticated, often including income, gift and estate tax savings techniques as well as other asset protection measures. We analyze each client’s business and financial goals and consult as necessary with client advisors to create a coordinated plan. We then prepare the appropriate documents to implement the plan.
An important part of our practice is probate and trust administration. We assist the personal representative or trustee in managing assets, preparing required court filings and estate tax returns, funding trusts and distributing assets.
Our Practice Group is staffed to work with businesses and estates of all sizes and complexity. If litigation or other expertise is required, we draw on attorneys throughout our firm to accomplish client goals. We have substantial experience advising family businesses and in planning and administering large and complex estates, including:
-
Reducing the tax burden and protecting assets to increase wealth transfer to the next generation
-
Planning for family business succession
-
Reconciling tax, business and personal goals
-

-
