Sylvia is involved in the Leadership Eugene-Springfield program through the Eugene and Springfield Chambers of Commerce. She is also active in Lane County Women Lawyers. Syvia grew up on the Oregon coast in Brookings, Oregon, where she was homeschooled until beginning college at age 15.

Sylvia’s favorite things are spending time with her husband, Jeff, and playing with their two cats, Frank and Cabbage. She’s an avid reader of magazines and mystery novels, and she loves traveling, exercise, action movies, and home improvement. In her spare time, she’s learning to knit.
