Practice Emphasis

Appellate and Trial Litigation

Judy joined Hershner Hunter, in an Of Counsel capacity, in 2004 as part of our litigation practice, with an emphasis on appeals. As of 2007, her practice will be limited to only appellate-level litigation. Judy started her legal career in 1990 as a judicial clerk for the Oregon Court of Appeals. Judy practiced appellate and complex trial litigation for eight years before leaving practice in 2000 to teach Legal Writing and Federal Civil Litigation at the University of Oregon School of Law. Judy is the Secretary for the Executive Committee of the Appellate Section of the Oregon State Bar. She has also served on the Executive Committee for the Constitutional Law Committee of the Oregon State Bar, and on the Board of Directors for Lane County Legal Aid.

Judy is an avid gardener, walker, and cross-country skier. She and her husband, David Olsson, have two children, Marika and Ben. Judy and her husband also run an independent appellate-only practice through which they represent non-Hershner Hunter clients in the appellate courts.
